U-kiss break up was heart breaking and very unfair because each one of the members are very important for the group, and also for the fans “Kissmes”.
The NHM thought that the group needed a change and blamed on the members for not acquiring enough success than expected. Even knowing that the members were kind of empiric idol stars because they didn’t have the same training than other groups but still the guys decided to take the risk.
The company decided to replace two members by arguing that they were “lacking in some areas” which by the current time haven’t been specified clearly. Another fact is the case of Kim Kibum.
Whom left the group first since around more than two months ago; the company said that he left in order to reinforce his Piro Piro business (personal business). But recently Kibum had an interview in a Korean local channel in order to break the silence and, clarify all the rumors and also clean his image.
During the interview he explained the reason why he left the group and he said that it wasn’t because of his personal business. That instead of that actually it wasn’t his choice to leave the group. He said that the company decided to change two members because they were lacking in some areas; “they asked me to sign in order to terminate my contract, so I did.” So in this way the departure from Kibum was clarified to the fans. Nowadays he is working in his personal business with his older brother Kim Hyungjoon. In their company called HnB.
In February 23rd of the current year 2011; it was announced the withdrawal from Alexander Lee Eusebio a.k.a. Xander.
Many fans were wondering why he left the group. So the company NHM said that he left the group in order to upgrade himself and to work in other personal projects overseas. Alexander remained in silence for a while and also wasn’t posting on his twitter account since the day the company announced his departure from u-kiss. In March 5th U-KISS held a concert (without Kibum) in Meadan, Indonesia; it was the last concert of Xander with the group. In which he gave a goodbye speech and said that he never wanted to leave and that he was thankful with all the fans; that he would always love them and also asked them to continue supporting and showing love to the group. (This concert was after his official departure) and created a great commotion between the fans because many thought that he was going to comeback to the group but instead of that it was the last concert together. It was a very sad moment after the members sang “the end of the road” because Kevin and Alexander brought to tears; they had a group hug and Xander gave his speech. That moment showed the human side of all the members because trough all this time (4 years) they have been like brothers to one another and fans could see that.
Actually it was a very important characteristic and quality from the group, their unity and nice chemistry in and out of the stage and also in some variety shows.
After the concert in Meadan, Alexander started posting in his twitter account again. He wrote a good-bye letter to all his fans, he said he was very thankful to the CEO (manager) of U-kiss because of the opportunity he had once to be part of the group. Alexander asked once again to the fans to continue supporting the group because he was going to support them too. Also thanked the group members for letting him be a big a big brother. “I wish one day we could stand together in the same stage”.
Perhaps Alexander’s case is still not so clear like Kibum’s because he hasn’t specified the very reasons of his departure from U-kiss. Though it seems it was an agreement between him and the company, there are many people thinking that he had the same fate than Kibum.
Recently, Alexander joined a project called 3rd Wave which is a Christian group and nowadays he is working with them since March 23rd it was officially announced that he was part of the project in the 3rd wave’s twitter.
On March 22nd, the NHM unveiled the two new members that would replace Alexander and Kibum. It occurred with less than a month before u-kiss’s comeback with a new mini album teaser. This news created a division between fans because some supported u-kiss with the new members and others still don’t accept them and long for Xander and Kibum to return to the group. So at this point u-kiss is like starting over again with these two new members AJ and Hoon which are not yet accepted and in some cases hated by some Kissmes however they both don’t have the fault in this entire problem.
The blame of all of this is NHM because it was very negligent and selfish what they did to u-kiss. If the group didn’t have enough success it was because of their lack of being innovative and for not giving a good promotion to the group. And if they thought that replacing members, the group would gain more success than before well it hasn’t been like that.
Actually the group is still far from that target because now the fans are splited. Also this was a wrong decision by NHM because there were many other possible solutions in order to gain success but not kicking out members and insulting them by saying that they were “lacking”; because they are really talented and unique.
Instead of that if they would have only add more members; all the fans would have accept them like the example of Lee Kiseop whom was the rookie member that joined U-kiss in 2009, a year after the group’s debut.
The group should be formed by 9 members according to the fans will, I think that what U-kiss needed was a change of concept and style not a change of members because each one of the original ones are naturally talented and brave like to be in the music entertainment without the same trainment than other but still have the courage to get up after they fell. It is a fact that they worked really hard to gain success. The group became famous with the seven original members working together.
That’s why we as fans admire and love them because of their perseverance and unity. So they all deserve to be in the group.
Nowadays U-kiss is promoting their new album teaser after their comeback in march 30th.They worked really hard with the new members in order to do so.
Despite all this problem of the break up, the rumors and the stuff that still not clear; the original and the new members don’t have the fault about what is happening to the group, the blame is NHM staff so let’s cheer up all the members in this difficult time and let’s support them in all their different activities. This entire situation was out of their hands.
I hope that in the near future NHM could realize the damage they have done to the group’s image and also that the group could stand in the same stage with nine members as it shall be. By the time I hope they all do well and support them in their projects.
